Three centuries of French power
Why Versailles?

Forty-five kilometres southwest of Paris, the Palace of Versailles was built by Louis XIV to be the most powerful statement in architecture. Over 800 hectares, 700 rooms and three centuries of French history converge here, making it the most visited monument in France outside the capital.
The Hall of Mirrors is the icon: 73 metres of gilded arches, 357 mirrors and 20,000 candles. It was in this room that the German Empire was proclaimed in 1871 and the Treaty of Versailles signed in 1919. A private guide turns these walls from ornament into story.
The Trianon domain is the counterpoint. Louis XV built the Petit Trianon as a retreat from ceremony, and Marie-Antoinette made it her own, designing the English garden, the dairy, the theatre and the Hamlet where she played at peasant life. This side of Versailles is intimate, personal, and almost unknown to visitors who only see the Palace.
In summer peak season, 27,000 visitors arrive each day. Without a guide, the scale overwhelms. With a private chauffeur and a certified guide dedicated to you alone, Versailles becomes navigable, human and unforgettable. Our tour handles every detail from Paris pickup to final drop-off.

Plan Around the Fountains
The Grandes Eaux Musicales bring the gardens to life with hundreds of fountains playing to baroque music by Lully, Charpentier and Handel — every weekend from early April to late October. On summer Saturday evenings, the Grandes Eaux Nocturnes illuminate the park with lights and fireworks. Visiting on a fountain day transforms the experience. We flag these dates in your quote so you can choose.

April – May
Grandes Eaux Musicales begin — weekends and some weekday afternoons
June – August
Peak season + Grandes Eaux Nocturnes on Saturday evenings (illuminated gardens)
September – October
Last weekends of the season — fewer crowds, golden light
November – March
No fountain shows — Palace open Tue–Sun, gardens quieter and more photogenic
Fountain Show days carry a small surcharge (approx. 10–12 euros per person) payable on site. We include the date context in your quote so you can decide whether to visit on a show day or a quieter day.
